History
If you’ve ever taken a course in American History, chances are you’ve heard of the Salem Witchcraft Trials. The trials began in the spring of 1692 when a group of girls claimed they were possessed due to witchcraft practiced by women in the town. These accusations had little merit, however they caused mass hysteria in the town of Salem. Over 200 people were accused of practicing witchcraft, and 20 women were executed.

Present Time
Fast forward three centuries and Salem is now the hub of all things witchcraft. In fact, many shops offer classes in witchcraft. Visiting the iconic Salem Witch Museum is a must for any tourist. The museum will teach you all you need to know about the history of witchcraft through animatronics and various exhibits. If you are interested in learning more about Salem take the infamous Red Line tour in which you follow a red line painted across the town that leads you to various historical locations.
